Today is like tomorrow, only...

Today I dreamt that I was in a huge skate contest, waiting my turn. I did a super long nollie 180 manual first try during practice. I felt that wonderful pre-contest anxiety and the strange excitability of the pressure to perform well. They were calling names and my turn was coming around next (I think), and then I woke up. I woke up happy though and un-discouraged of how my run went, so that was pretty cool I guess. Tomorrow when I wake up I will be in San Diego (and that will not only be in a dream).

This is a video made entirely from clips off my digital camera at a St. Patricks Day party with some of my "older friends." It is on the hush-hush, as in, not very many of the "stars" in it have even seen it or are aware that it is on the Internet! Most of these party people were not aware that I was shooting video most of the time and kept waiting for a flash from my camera. Enjoy.

"DAVENPORT, Iowa - With a stunning $25 million fundraising haul for his presidential campaign, Democrat Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) affirmed his status Wednesday as Hillary Rodham Clinton's chief rival. The freshman Illinois senator proved he could channel his appeal into significant financial muscle, and he dispelled, for now, questions about the durability of his anti-war, "hope"-driven candidacy.
Obama's three-month money total stopped just short of the record $26 million Clinton brought in. By any measure, it was an astonishing figure for a political newcomer elected to the U.S. Senate just two years ago.
...His campaign released additional details illustrating the breadth of Obama's support. He had 100,000 contributors in the first quarter, with more than half donating online for a total of $6.9 million. Clinton, by contrast, had about 50,000 contributors and raised $4.2 million online.
The campaign said at least $23.5 million of the $25 million total was available to be used in the highly competitive primary race. The Clinton campaign has yet to disclose how much of her $26 million can be used for the primary and how much was earmarked for the general election. Clinton also transferred $10 million from her Senate account, bringing her total campaign funds to $36 million.
Obama's strong showing was a blow to Clinton, who sought to position herself as her party's strongest White House contender in part through her fundraising prowess. She has spent years developing a national fundraising network through two Senate campaigns and her husband's eight years as president."

Lazy Sunday

Today I flew on my first small plane. Rachel's friend's husband is a flight instructor in Suffolk. He called this morning and said he was going up and that we could come along. Unfortunately, as it turned out, Rachel couldn't go along as there were weight restrictions allowing for only one of us to go. She opted for me to go instead. Probably the better decision, as the turbulence turned out to be pretty rough. I'm not usually effected too bad by motino sickness, but this was really bad! I felt like shit almost the entire flight! Upon landing they did say that it was a little rougher than usual, and that because I was sitting in the back I probably had it worse. Anyway, it was a great experience but it was not without discomfort. These planes are super small and you can really feel it!

problemos

blogger isn't working correctly for me today. i am not able to post photos/scans/etchings. maybe this is happening for a reason. maybe it is a reason far beyond my capacity of understanding.
i am unable to fulfill my vision of the day.

i have to wonder, how would i feel if this blog vanished today? off the face of the www forever; 258 posts to virtual archive air, somewhere irretrievable, unreadable, un-seeable. hmm.
i think i would be pretty bummed.

Easy Tiger

Ryan Adams has been making another album and it is set to be released on June 5th. It is called "Easy Tiger" and is sure to be good (as certain talents never fail).

In other news, the White Stripes have another one already recorded and mixed along with a very strange update (with video) on their website. Their album is going to be called "Icky Thump" which is also strange, but whatever. In more (slightly stalkerish) news, Jack White's house in Detroit is for sale here. It looks pretty rad. (addendum: My friend told me about it! geez!)
