Turn down the sound.

The Apocalypse!

Family Makeover

It costs $150,000 to make over your family for a vice presidential campaign. Money well spent. I wonder how much Biden spent on clothes and make up?

Skate Videos that changed your life Part 1

1281

It was 1991, and this video essentially started it all; I watched it everyday and memorized every song. For some reason, Danny Sargent’s part was the standout for me. I guess you could say he was my first favorite skater, for the first few years. His part was so badass and and the song was rad too.

(*On a side note, when I am out skating and kids ask me, "How long you been skating man?" is "17 years" a good answer or should I just be vague and not scare them away?)

Hoots and Hellmouth

Going to see this band tonight at the Boot at 10:30.
I just found out that an old friend, Dustin Hogue, is opening up! I had read about Hoots and Hellmouth in the Pilot several months ago when they played here and I meant to go, but I didn't.
This is my second chance.

Come out and hang if you live around here and have nothing better to do than sleep at 10:30 tonight.

OMG

This is real, not Tina Fey; The Alaskan beauty queen is legitimately defending her "foreign policy experience" comment because her state is close, in proximity, to Russia.

(It's only like a minute, just watch it!)

What is the lamest thing ever invented?

This gets my vote.

McCain's looking for a snow day.

I guess McCain hasn't heard of a jet plane. How long would it really take to get from Washington to Mississippi on a jet plane? Oh Wait! This just in! The McCain camp is trying to postpone the first Vice Presidential debate too! Of course! Why didn't I think of that!? This will give Mrs. Palin some more time to brush up. UNBELIEVABLE!

Update:
He cancelled Letterman too!?

Arggh! Voyage on the mighty seas of foam!

The Audacity of Hopeless

"A Maverick is a person who shows independence of thought or action; a non-conformist or rebel."
I don't think we need another so called Maverick.

If I was on the fence...

Seriously, this is borderline insanity. I mean, taking no side in the matter, consider this crazy world we live in where this happens! She is clearly posing for the picture!? Is this defamation of character or what!? I am quite obviously an Obama supporter, but this is getting insane!

"Let’s say you don’t read The New York Times or The Washington Post (or The Note, for that matter). Let’s say you don’t follow the big political blogs and you’re not obsessed with every turn of the screw of this fascinating presidential race.
Let’s say, instead, like millions of working-class Americans, you get your “news” on the political race from the supermarket aisle. Let’s say you’re -- I don’t know, a “hockey mom” -- and you’re intrigued by this Sarah Palin person you’ve been hearing so much about since Friday.
So you’re shopping this week -- and what do you see on the cover of US Weekly? That esteemed journalistic institution is taking it right to John McCain’s running mate -- with a hard-hitting piece that details the “scandal” involving her daughter’s pregnancy.
“BABIES, LIES & SCANDAL,” screams the headline on the cover, with a picture of a smiling Palin holding her fifth child, 4-month-old Trig.
Inside is a collection of Palin lowlights -- from her daughter’s now well-known pregnancy; to Internet rumors that the governor pretended to be pregnant to cover for her daughter; to “troopergate”; to her onetime support for the “bridge to nowhere”; to a radio appearance where she giggled while shock jocks called a political rival a “bitch” and a “cancer.”
“Within hours of McCain’s surprise introduction of the little-known, charismatic mother of five as his running mate, the scandals began to emerge as quickly as flies at a Labor Day picnic,” Mara Reinstein writes for the magazine".
