375, A Factless Biography

"The countryside is always where we aren't. There, and there alone, do real trees and real shade exist.
Life is the hesitation between an exclamation and a question. Doubt is resolved by a period.
Miracles are God's laziness–or rather, the laziness we ascribe to God when we invent miracles.
The Gods are the incarnation of what we can never be.
The weariness of all hypotheses..."

oh, poetry.

It came to me the other day:
Were I to die, no one would say,
“Oh, what a shame! So young, so full
Of promise — depths unplumbable!”
Instead, a shrug and tearless eyes
Will greet my overdue demise;
The wide response will be, I know,
“I thought he died a while ago.”
For life’s a shabby subterfuge,
And death is real, and dark, and huge.
The shock of it will register
Nowhere but where it will occur.

Best music in the world today!?
"Penniless & tired with your hair grown long
I was looking at you there and your face looked wrong
memory is a fickle siren's song I didn't understand..."

A celebration
I am alone in a restaurant, playing with my food. I am restless and thinking about all the people I would rather be. I occasionally mutter things aloud to myself but I am not crazy. A beautiful woman walks by my table, starring at me with smiling eyes. I do not look at her; something is on my mind. The waiter brings the check. I thank him for his service and wish him a good night as I put on my coat.Out on the street people appear to be celebrating something big. It is night time. The air is cold and filled with large inflatable floats and confetti. People with painted faces are screaming at the top of their lungs. As I walk home briskly I ignore all of this. I am plagued with indecision on who to hire for the pending vinyl-siding job on my house.

new book

I am reading a new book about food.
"Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan
imjustablog'

Start: last semester, 2 year program done in May – Associate of Applied Arts; Graphic Design/Specialization: Multimedia. well well well done/ for this is just a blog afterall and maybe a place to share some words every once in a awhile. increasingly it is all prtty much shit, and in times before too long ago we couldn’t all get so lost. imagine all the “greats” typing out their masterpieces; no ctrl + z’s and font choices! (Dostoyevsky can’t undo!) i am just a blog. but i can undo. sort of, sometimes (except maybe on you Google Reader feeds!) white-out.
So yes, off track again but back again here: in coming to the end of the tunnel I am spending my last 16 weeks learning Final Cut Pro and After Effects, as well as preparing a Portfolio of beginner work. Exciting to say the least, overwhelming to say the most. I slept funny last night, dreaming in software social networks, running around in all different directions, not settling on one form to create something in. I just want to run around, do laps, in all the new programs I am opening up! Where there is a loss of focus, there is a bonfire of interest and well, video is intriguing to say the least. I think that with all the current world bells and whistles, the written word gets left behind, while it remains the most daunting craft and the most illuminating vision-maker. Maybe I am writing that because last night I watched, the ever amazing story of Hunter S Thompson, Gonzo. Maybe I am writing that because I have long believed it to be the truth. I have stepped away from words, seduced by technology to hide behind images and video that will never substitute a well composed written treatise, regardless of their dominance in the new world. “Those who don’t read, are no better off than those who can’t.” -Mark Twain
Try writing something cool this afternoon.
