Plastic Ono Band -Classic Albums
It's been a long time since I have been so moved, shaken, and stirred by something. Tonight that happened. Plastic Ono Band was the first solo album by Lennon. It was without a doubt, absolute fire breathing brilliance. It was John Lennon being totally raw and unfiltered as a person and a musician, stripped down reflection in minimal form. I always knew the album was heralded as a masterpiece, and I myself have enjoyed it for years, but tonight I spent 53 minutes really learning all about the album. If you have Netflix, and want to be inspired by a great, I wholeheartedly endorse this film.
If you know nothing about the album, well, it's a great place to start.

Happy Hour
Last night I bought a new lens ($200) from a dude on Craigslist. He met me at Cogans.
Happy birthday to me. I snapped off a few frames to make sure it worked and I'm pretty sure it does.
Here's a convincing review of the lens. In summary, I have a new lens, Cogan's happy hour is tight and I scored a sweet deal. Oh, and I got to try some girl's awesome bike.

Real Street X Games challenge
So I am just now catching the point of this Real Street X Games contest. The best 60-second video wins $50,000. The finalists in include the below...
How can you judge this stuff!? Both are incredible.

I pick Daewon. As enjoyable as Dylan Reider is to watch skate, Daewon is better and way more original. Whatever though; skateboarding was never meant to be a competition like this, and these two videos can help you understand why.

Cy Twombly died today.
Always thought his work was amazing. He, no doubt spawned more "my kid could do that" claims than most.
"No, they really couldn't."
Twombly, 83, died in Rome today. More.
