80 degrees

Yesterday Nick took me to the Williamsburg Skate Park and we spent more time sitting in traffic than we did skating. It was also the first hot day in a long time.

It was the weirdest park and there were lots of kiddies zooming around aimlessly and boldly just going whenever they pleased. One kid fell and even started crying, obnoxiously loud; he was dropping in somewhere and then he noticed he might be headed right for another kid, and tried to bail but fell down in the process. He cried so loud and drew so much attention to himself. I thought it was hilarious. Then this other bold little brat, was like, "Hey can you not go in the middle, I am trying to go." wtf!? Are you serious? Nick almost murdered like three kids today too.

Ugh; get out of the way bro.

The Riverdales

Okay, so there is absolutely NOTHING on the internet about this band. It sucks. They were one of my favorite bands from high school and I still think they were one of the most overlooked and badass. This video sucks, and if you don't already know how awesome they are, this video will do nothing for you. It just really bums me out that U2™ is out there making a fucking 4th live concert dvd (in 3D, no less) and I can't find one proper clip of this amazing band. Why didn't someone 3-D video this show?

*Oh and looksy here, "u2Mart.com." They even have an "online U2 store created for fans by fans" for selling their shit, as if someone might have trouble finding there merch or product elsewhere!? WTF? I think I hate U2.

Just another cool time lapse...

This was made on a Canon DSLR, and it must have taken a whole lot of time! Learn all about it on DPS.

Graphic Design

What is Design? What is a Designer?

Design is first and foremost an intellectual process. Contrary to popular belief, designers are not artists. They employ artistic methods to visualize thinking and process, but, unlike artists, they work to solve a client’s problem, not present their own view of the world. If a design project, however, is to be considered successful – and that would be the true measure of quality – it will not only solve the problem at hand, but also add an aesthetic dimension beyond the pragmatic issues.

I consider design not to be a series of “creative” one-offs, but an integrated process, from planning the appropriate communications strategy to designing functional and beautiful objects as well as – for example – implementing electronic stationery on clients' systems.

What clients say and what designers hear are too often very different things. Design is a powerful tool to help clarify the problem. It is only when a common understanding has been established between client and designer that effective results can be
achieved.

Design quality needs an integrated approach: look more closely than expected, ask many questions, think laterally, get involved in things you shouldn’t, do more than you are supposed to and have fun doing it. Problem solving is one thing, aesthetic pleasure another. Combine the two, make the engineer sketch like an artist and make the artist analyze like an engineer, and you are half-way there.

Hulu

Hulu is the jam! It's like youtube, only higher quality and longer clips, even movies apparently. The only downside is commercials, the upside of that is that they are all for Chilis!
