An anniversary

is "an annual observation of a past event."
Today is an annual observation of the first post on this blog, (for better or worse) and in case anyone has had earplugs and blinders on all day it is also the anniversary date of the Hurricane named Katrina.
cheers! (i suppose).

Getting awesome in Cape May, NJ

Okay, Summer is officially over for me. I went to the last summer wedding yesterday and it was beautifully insane and insanely beautiful. 11am ceremonial love vows of Rorica (Rory and Jessica) on the beach...

followed by sweetness and sincerities under a tent with food, drinks, friends and family for several hours (there was even a "MoonBounce") Eventually the reception erupted into drunken mayhem; fueled by boxes of Margarita King and a HoHo Wedding cake. The only relief from this came in the form of the waves of the Atlantic Ocean for about an hour, but not before the newlyweds enjoyed a horse drawn carriage ride through the historic neighborhoods of Cape May...

After some more time passed we even managed to get a little skateboarding in right before dinner.

Newlyweds on Beach Ave.

Finally, the last call of events, was a bar called "The Ugly Mug." I only had one beer and Rachel and I walked home exhausted, in bed by 12am.

Addendum: There are undoubtedly so many more photos are out there, here are some of Tyler's...

Lyrically speaking..there's not much better

Shadows are falling and I've been here all day
It's too hot to sleep time is running away
Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I've still got the scars that the sun didn't heal
There's not even room enough to be anywhere
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Well my sense of humanity has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain
She wrote me a letter and she wrote it so kind
She put down in writing what was in her mind
I just don't see why I should even care
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Well, I've been to London and I've been to gay Paree
I've followed the river and I got to the sea
I've been down on the bottom of a world full of lies
I ain't looking for nothing in anyone's eyes
Sometimes my burden seems more than I can bear
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

I was born here and I'll die here against my will
I know it looks like I'm moving, but I'm standing still
Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb
I can't even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don't even hear a murmur of a prayer
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there.

Bob Dylan has a new album coming out next week called Modern Times and I'm gonna buy it.

blogg

All apologies (seldom, occasional and earnest) readership, the Internet has not been as close a friend of mine recently, as you may be able to tell...

i'm moving on for awhile without the dabblings and dalliances of bloggings. well, maybe. at least for a bit, while i recollect and regr oup.
in my time away i found out that i could actually live without the Net and that the constant flow of "info-tainment" as a compulsive netizen, was probably not all that good for me anyway. you inevitably lose out on other things.
oh, but before i go a big congratulations for a year of MostlySkateboarding! ConstantCompanion celebrates a year in one week, exactly. is it weird to celebrate blog birthdays? probably.
(blogirthdays, blogdays, blogoday,) oh well.

bye till when...

ENTP

I'm an ENTP according to the MBTI. Am I speaking CODEspeak? No, not really, but maybe if you aren't familliar with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test. Either way, heres your chance to learn. I went to a seminar on the subject the other day at work and gained some valuable knowledge on the subject. You could just take the test here if you like and stop reading. It only takes about ten minutes. It asks questions like, "Are you more likely to trust A) reason or B) feelings? Do you tend to be more A) deliberate or B) impulsive? Do you tend to A) take deadlines seriously or B) see deadlines as elastic?" Those questions are scored in a sensible fashion to determine which personality characteristics more favor you.
According to the characteristics frequently associated with my type (ENTP) I am, "Quick, ingenious, stimulating, alert, and outspoken. Resourceful in solving new and challenging problems. Adept at generating conceptual possibilities and then analyzing them strategically. Good at reading other people. Bored by routine, will seldom do the same thing in the same way, apt to turn to one new interest after another. They constantly scan the environment for opportunities and possibilites. They see patterns and connections not obvious to others and at times seem able to see into the future." More about the "Extraverted Inuition with Introverted Thinking" personality type (as an ENTP is often referred to as).
This all sounds so grand and pompous, but really, they all appear to be written in such a way; to highlight the positive things and the strengths of each personality type. And, although it's not 'all true, all the time', the assessment has been statisically proven to be fairly reliable despite it being a theory based test. I think it's pretty interesting stuff and maybe you will too. Have fun learning more about yourself and those around you.

Destination: WestCoast

oh,,,THE arts.>>>
Unitard. WestGhost.

Eddie and Derek in a place called LA, mounted on walls, artifacts special and monumental to dedicated time. Absorb the feeling, talk, look and be loose. Then go home and think about maybe what you can do about your life in a representational format for others to admire. Sleep on it.

the continuous flow of ideas, strange and surreal, broken and unsealed; the possibilities are unreal.

Girl with Ice Cream Cone, 1963

I figure it might be right to write again; not right as in right, but write as in neccessary. 10 more days; countdown to the biggest day of my life, one of those big "life milestones" people talk about.

WayneThiebaud
August one, back again, blogging just to blog again. Perhaps its been too long, awhile, not long enough, don't write just anything, don't you have something to say, where are your brains? Why would I start a blog? I've got nothing to say. (As a recent commenter said, "Don't talk about it be about it.") I'm 'being about it.'
The format or style of written broadcast has changed to reflect extreme verbosity and overusage, redundancy and fecundity. i want to go totally unhinged again. i want to write howvvver i wnt tooo. i will do things differently. maybe only when i when i when i when i when waunt to. maybe you will only see the madness for the next ten days to come. then i will leave the country for awhile and hope to come back. a big break from all the is known and routine for me. full meals, beer in the morning, skies all day and open ended silk afternoons with no big decisions or heavy burdens.

oh yeah, and TwoNine was a blast this year, although i do think it's getting a little big for its own means and purpose. Maricel documented it well...
